About me.
Hello, my name is Gertru.
During my tourism studies, I developed a passion for the Spanish language and culture. That’s why I decided to pursue a teacher training program in Spanish afterward. My love for Spain and the Spanish-speaking world kept growing, fueled by various trips through Spain and Central America and studying at the University of Valencia. Later, I continued traveling extensively and worked as a Spanish teacher for several years. Spain kept calling to me, so no one was surprised when, after a short vacation in Barcelona in June 2013, I decided to extend my stay and try my luck there. What started as a two-week trip quickly turned into years, during which I discovered another great passion: guiding bike tours through Barcelona.
During the pandemic, I returned to teaching and realized that I really enjoy it as well. Why not combine both? I thought to myself. Offering Spanish lessons online or on location and bike tours in Barcelona — this is how Venconmigo was born.

With my company, Venconmigo, I guide you into the Spanish language and culture through my Spanish courses, which I offer year-round, outside of school holidays and summer. I also take you on private bike tours to explore Barcelona throughout the year.
